16 weeks

Friday, January 8, 2010

I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow. Crazy. Things haven't really changed a whole lot except I'm growing outward and my ligaments are starting to bother me. I can't get comfortable to save life and from what I hear, it only gets worse... Yay!

Tell me again how any kid has siblings?

Psyche!

Ugh. Ok.. so I did indeed jinx myself... the following day after my last post, I resumed all the nastiness. My energy went away and I feel like crap all over again.

Christmas was good overall. Somehow I managed not to get sick while we were traveling, but I was super tired.

That's basically all the energy I have for today... cyas next time...

Happy New Year.

Over the hump and through the woods....

Just in time for Christmas... it appears that all of the junk I've been dealing with for the past 2 months is now GONE. I don't want to jinx myself, but as of Friday, my energy level was up and I was feeling a bit like my old self again. WOOT!

AND... I'm pudgy. EEK. Some of my jeans don't fit anymore.. in fact, I have only 2 pair of pants (1 work and 1 pair of jeans) that do fit... anything else and I have to use the bella band... weird.

I am looking forward to eating more now... I miss me some cali rolls, Arbys and King Ranch casserole... Here's hoping for a great 2nd trimester!

We go back to the doctor tomorrow.

The house has been completely recarpeted, which is such a huge sigh of relief... we got some home improvement store gift cards for Christmas, so I'm hoping to get some solid 6 panel doors for the bedrooms and just regular 6 panel doors for the rest of the house.. and new door knobs.

Why is it that the home builders use chrome and brass for fixtures? I'm switching everything to nickle. But, we have to see how far these gift cards stretch... we may only get to buy a portion right now and save for the rest.

Nausea update

Wednesday, December 9, 2009

So, the morning (HAHA..all day) sickness is still kicking me in the head. Shortly after my last post, I started getting sick up to 10 times a day. NOT FUN. I am having more good days than before, so I'm hoping that the end is near for all of the nonsense.

Brian and I went to our first doctor's visit on November 19th. He was so intrigued by everything. It was fun to watch. He's pretty excited. I wish I could say the same. I think I will be once I stop being so sick. The baby is measuring 5 days small, so that could be one of three things... due date is wrong, something is wrong, baby is just small. I was given a Rx for my sickness, but I try not to take it if I can deal. We got back on December 22nd.

We did have a productive weekend. We're having the house re-carpeted. OMG what a difference! We should be able to finish up this weekend, but I have no idea if we'll be able to get the rooms cleared out in time. Brian won't let me help when I feel bad. Nor will he let me lift much, which is probably a good thing anyway.

We also got a new puppy. His name is Chewy and if he weren't so damn cute, I would be annoyed by his late night whining. I'm working on breaking that habit. Hopefully by the end of the week. I know Brian is annoyed, which is another reason I'm trying to get it corrected ASAP. He'll be a good dog for Cooler though. This is the only thing I can think of to help calm Cooler down some. I'm really afraid he'll trample the baby, which means, he'll be spending a lot of time outside. :(

Work is... going. The noise pollution is ridiculous, so I still can't concentrate. December is the busiest time of the year for us, so I can only imagine how many mistakes I'll make while trying to do budgets and media planning with idiots across the room talking about blue poop (an actual topic, although it has only come up once, thank goodness).

Can't wait to be a SAHM/Freelancer FT.

Nausea is kicking my ass

Thursday, November 5, 2009

Thanks to a good friend, I now have a new "must have with me at all times" item in my purse... Ginger Chews. Who knew...

I've only been physically sick once, but every morning I wish my body would just give in, thinking maybe it would make me feel better.

The hardest part about all of this is eating. I love to eat, but I have a bad problem with forgetting. But due to the little alien screwing with my stomach, I haven't had this issue as of late. It's just eating good stuff. Hopefully I only have a few more weeks of this...

I'm super tired. I basically get up, go to work, come home, go to bed. I have no energy to do anything. I'm afraid of what the house will look like when i get my energy back. Brian is being pretty good about picking up after us, but he is a guy.. and guys just don't clean "correctly". LOL

He's also being a good sport about my whinnyness...it annoys me too, but I have not figured out a way to just not bitch... LOL it just comes so naturally.

Anyways.. that's enough of that. Back to work for me.

Brian/Kristal hybrid coming to you Summer 2010

That's right.. I'm pregnant.

Along with that diagnosis means I'm also really bitchy, which is why I took a test in the first place. I figured "I'll just rule this out real quick..." Next thing I knew I was pacing the house going up and down the stairs for the next 2 hours until Brian got home.

I'm still in shock and not real sure what to think of all this. I've only had that maternal need twice in my life. Once when I was 19 and the other soon after I started dating Brian. Things with us seem to be on fast forward. Everything has gone so fast.

In those 2 hours that I was waiting for Brian to get home from work, I tried to find a fun way to tell him. I knew he'd probably be more excited about this than I was, so I wasn't too worried about his reaction. When he gets home, he makes a bee-line to his fish tanks. So, I put the test under the canopy. I had the video going, but his reaction was weird. He thought I was playing a joke on him. So, I asked if he wanted to try and read it again... Apparently, men don't know how to read these things. I think it's pretty obvious... a plus means positive. Once he got it, he was thrilled. Thank goodness someone was cuz I'm terrified.

I had no intentions of telling anyone for a while. Honestly, I was so put off by "friends" and their comments when I got engaged. I didn't get "congrats" or anything similar.. I got "Are you pregnant?"... How rude. So, I am not posting anything on Facebook.

Brian, of course wanted to tell everyone the second he found out. LOL. We spent most of last week spreading the news with select friends and family. Here's the reactions:

Liese -- squeal...
Kinnon -- You're pregnant? Congrats!
Scotty -- 'bout time
Jenny, Jen, Julie -- congrats (told through email since I haven't had much time to visit or call).. Jenny is apparently already planning a baby shower.. LOL
Jason -- non-chalant no shit?
Cecilia -- probably one of the funniest... I was holding Brayden and she jumped up to give me a hug and almost took his little head off... LOL
Meme -- WIN WIN WIN! (My reaction.. did you just say "WIN?" LOL)
Dad -- ok
Bonita -- See I knew it!
Mom -- congrats w/ a weepy hug
Robert/Karen -- crying hug/shock
Eric -- congrats
Ashley -- squeal
Grandma and Papa -- Hotdog! Although it turns out Grandma thought Papa was talking about someone else... LOL

So, here we go... My first appointment is November 19th. I'm super tired. I haven't had a lot of nausea, but I've had some.. When I do get it, it seems to last all morning through mid-afternoon... after that I'm fine, but I want a nap... the worst part so far is my boobs hurt.. LOL

5 days and counting

Monday, June 1, 2009

We've survived up to the point, so I think we're good to go. Everything is done, so we are just playing the waiting game for Friday to get here. That's when all of the chaos will take shape.

Brian had his bachelor party this past weekend. Nothing too extreme, but I definitely don't want to know. Haha! I'm having my Girls Night Out Thursday which will just be dinner and then some games. It won't be a late night for 2 reasons. 1) I am not a night owl, so staying up past 10:30 is only possible if I have a work deadline I'm stressed about.. haha 2) Most people have this thing called work that they have to do the next day.

Friday is the rehearsal and thank you dinner. That's where I think the nerves will finally kick in. Knowing that I'll be standing in front of 120+ people and they will all be staring at me makes my stomach turn.

Hopefully everything goes smoothly. The drama has come down to a mere trickle which is the biggest stress reliever for me.

Our honeymoon flight was canceled and reissued for 2 hours earlier. I'm just so excited to be waking up at 3:30 in the morning the day after the ceremony.. lemme tell ya. Haha.

Bring on this new life!
